This 1972 booklet gives an overview of Vera's Bronx Sentencing Project, the pilot program that developed into the Community Service Sentencing Project. The project was established to fill the need for a pre-sentence report which: 1) would contain information most often used by judges in determining sentences and 2) could be prepared within a relatively short period of time.
