Overview
This 1978 report evaluates 7 pretrial diversion programs, programs which attempt to intervene in the usual court process just after a defendant's arrest and provide educational and employment opportunities. The seven projects were The Court Employment Project (run by Vera), Operation de Novo, The Court Resource Program, the Hudson County Pretrial Intervention Program, the Bergen County Pretrial Intervention Program, the Dade County Pretrial Intervention Project, and Operation Midway. Considerations include program locus, eligibility criteria, selection and intake, participant characteristics, services and exit process.
