Most people who are released pretrial aren’t arrested for new charges

Most assessed defendants who were released to the community after first appearance were not arrested for a new charge during the pretrial period. During the third quarter of 2017, 574 defendants were assessed with a low or low-moderate risk score and released to the community during the pretrial period. Of those defendants, the vast majority (505) were not arrested for a new charge of any kind.
