Overview

This paper reviews the experiences of four Vera projects that have asked police officers to change their routines in some way. Each has used police roll call meetings to provide background information to police or to train officers in new procedures necessary to the implementation of the demonstration. Based on the experiences of project staff, the paper draws lessons that may be relevant to future efforts to engage police.
