Felony Case Preparation Project Executive Summary and Introduction

Overview

This is a c.1982 interim research report by Vera on an effort by the New York City Police Department to address a perceived shortfall in the indictment, conviction, and incarceration rates in felony arrest cases. In this experiment, in collaboration with the Bronx District Attorney's Office, immediate post-arrest investigations of felony arrests were intended to change the dispositional patterns in targeted experimental precincts and, from a law enforcement perspective, improve them.
