Bail Information for the Crown Prosecution Service Volume One of the Final Report on the Probation Initiative

Overview

This is the first volume of a 1988 final report on a project in which Vera assisted the Association of Chief Officers of Probation (ACOP) over a two-year period in the design implementation and monitoring of a series of small pilot schemes which were organized to develop the work of the British Probation Services with the newly-formed Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). The CPS, formed in 1985 under the Prosecution of Offences Act, established the CPS under the direction of the Director of Public Prosecutions as a single unified Crown Prosecution Service with responsibility for all public prosecutions in England and Wales.
