Overview

This 1979 Vera report recommends ways to improve the process by which the police prepare a case for prosecution, based on the view that the absence of post-arrest investigations in felony cases produces a number of undesirable conditions. The Felony Case Preparation Project is designed to increase police awareness of the evidenciary need of the prosecutor by directly involving the police in the case-building process.
