Zerlina Chiu
Zerlina joined the Center on Immigration and Justice in October 2014 as a program analyst for the Unaccompanied Children Program. Prior to Vera, Zerlina worked at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, where she coordinated the city-wide NYCitizenship in Schools program and the Empowerment, Access and Success for Immigrant Youth workshops. Previously, she had also worked at the PEN American Center and StoryCorps. Zerlina earned her BA in cultural anthropology and classical studies at CUNY Hunter College, where she wrote her honors thesis comparing the heroes of the Greek Iliad and the Chinese Sanguoyanyi. Zerlina is a native to New York City and has lived on islands all her life.
