Vera Institute of Justice

Stephen Lurie is an associate on the impact strategy team of Vera’s Impact Pipeline, an internal innovation hub for sourcing, testing, and developing new initiatives in the criminal justice and immigration fields. He works with teams to develop and pilot strategies to change the criminal legal and immigration systems.

Before joining Vera in 2022, Stephen worked on strategy and partnerships in the immigrant rights movement and as a research and policy analyst on violence reduction and public safety.

In addition to his work at Vera, Stephen covers culture, politics, and society as a freelance writer.

He holds a BA in political science from the University of Chicago.
