Vera Institute of Justice

As senior communications associate, Scarlet handles media inquiries to the institute, drafts press releases and other materials, and contributes to communications strategies. In her time at Vera, she has overseen the institute's social media channels and managed the website, blog, and social media presence for the Safety and Justice Challenge, an initiative to change the way America thinks about and uses jails. Prior to joining Vera in 2014 as communications associate, she worked in academic publishing, where she acquired and managed political science research monographs. She holds a BA in English from the University of Texas at Austin.
