Preety is a graduate student intern currently pursuing a Masters in public administration with a concentration in social policy at Columbia SIPA. Preety became passionate about criminal justice reform after serving a year with AmeriCorps in an alternative-to-incarceration program for youth in Baltimore. Prior to graduate school, Preety supported public defenders in NYC as an arraignment court administrator and as an investigator. Most recently she worked with rape crisis advocates and corrections staff to increase correctional facilities' level of compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act policies that support incarcerated survivors of sexual assault.
