Oluremi (Remi) Abiodun

Remi Abiodun is a program associate with the Vera Louisiana initiative. In her role, Remi collaborates with stakeholders ranging from community-based organizations to elected officials, working to strategically reform policies to address the root causes of violent crime and to reduce mass incarceration, racial disparities, and the detention of people with mental health conditions.

Before joining Vera in 2025, Remi worked as a staff attorney at the Louisiana Center for Children's Rights (LCCR). At LCCR, she represented the office's civil legal services cases as well as children facing life in prison without parole.

In addition to her work at Vera, Remi is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Remi holds a BA in psychology from Spelman College and a JD/MSW from Florida State University.
