Noah Bartelt
Noah Bartelt is a research associate with Vera's Restoring Promise initiative, where he conducts research to help create and maintain prison housing units rooted in human dignity. He leads qualitative and quantitative research in Restoring Promise units in North Dakota and assists with research across all other states.
Before joining Restoring Promise full-time, Noah spent a summer as an intern, authoring a report analyzing budgeting processes and financial standings across the departments of corrections of seven states. He also interned at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) California Action, the 501(c)(4) organization formed by the state’s regional ACLU affiliates, where he researched police canine use and involuntary servitude in California prisons.
Noah holds a BA and an MA in public policy from Stanford University. His academic research focused on drug decriminalization, supportive housing development, and public finance policy.
