Mindy Tarlow
Mindy Tarlow is a senior fellow at New York University’s Marron Institute of Urban Management, where she combines Marron’s applied research platform with her multisector experience in ways that support scalable, sustainable solutions to problems facing the public and social sectors that promote effective human systems and equitable practices. Prior to joining NYU, Tarlow was a managing director at Blue Meridian Partners, where she launched and oversaw the Justice and Mobility Fund, a collaborative fund that committed substantial resources to support the legal reforms most conducive to improving economic mobility. Previously, Tarlow served as head of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Operations, where she oversaw citywide performance management, data analytics, poverty research, and strategic efforts to advance equity and opportunity. Prior to that, she spent nearly two decades as the founding executive director and chief executive officer of the Center for Employment Opportunities, a nonprofit organization—and spin-off of the Vera Institute of Justice—that provides employment services to people who have recently been incarcerated, scaling the organization to multiple states. Early in her career, Tarlow worked in the New York City Office of Management and Budget, where she rose to the position of deputy director.
