Mathilde Laisne

Mathilde was a program associate in Vera's New Orleans office where she worked with local partners to develop initiatives that improved fairness and efficiency in New Orleans’ criminal justice system. She also provided assistance to the Housing Authority of New Orleans in their efforts to give applicants with criminal convictions the opportunity to access subsidized housing. Born and raised in France, Mathilde holds a masters in international security from the Paris School of International Affairs with a concentration in human rights law. Prior to that, she studied political science at the University of Sciences Po in Paris and sociology at the Humboldt University of Berlin. While in school, Mathilde interned with the Office of the Prosecutor at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in The Hague, Netherlands. She also headed a student-staffed project that provides books to young children attending under-resourced schools, with the aim of promoting equal access to knowledge and reducing disparities among children.
