Marina Caeiro

Marina was the program director for the Legal Orientation Program (LOP) at the Center on Immigration and Justice. She joined Vera in November 2011 and provided technical assistance to a national network of legal service providers in the form of on-site training programs, topical conference calls, and site visits. She was involved in the launch and implementation of the New York Immigrant Family Unity Program (NYIFUP), the first-in-the-nation public defender program for detained individuals in removal proceedings. During law school, Marina was a student attorney for the University of St. Thomas Immigration Law Clinic, a senior editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a summer associate at Stinson, Leonard, Street LLP. She earned her JD from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, and a BA in political science and international studies from the University of Richmond
