Kerry Mulligan
Kerry Mulligan is the associate director of research for the Redefining Public Safety initiative. Kerry leads research efforts to expand knowledge of practices that enhance community safety and to support the adoption, adaption, and evaluation of these practices in communities nationwide. Kerry has collaborated with policymakers, public safety practitioners, and community advocates to make data-informed changes and invest in equitable and community-based approaches to safety.
Before joining Vera, Kerry led a team at the Center for Policing Equity creating data products to help communities track and reduce racial disparities in police contact and enforcement. She also worked as a lead researcher at the Data Collaborative for Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the New York City Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice.
Kerry holds a BA in sociology and social work from the College of Saint Rose and an MA and a PhD in sociology from the University of California, Riverside.
