Kelsey Reid
As former program associate in Vera’s Reshaping Prosecution program, Kelsey worked with elected prosecutors across the country to end mass incarceration, address racial disparities, and make their offices more accountable to the communities they serve. Kelsey joined Vera as a program associate in the Center on Sentencing and Corrections providing technical assistance to jurisdictions committed to reducing their jail population.
Prior to coming to Vera, she served in The White House Domestic Policy Council during the Obama administration, where she collaborated with federal agencies and local jurisdictions to implement the recommendations of the Task Force on 21st Century Policing and other data-driven criminal legal system reforms. Kelsey previously worked in Mumbai, India conducting economic and statistical analyses and providing technical assistance for a state government program. She also worked at the UChicago Crime Lab on evaluations of academic and social emotional support programs for young men in Chicago Public Schools. Kelsey holds a BA in public policy from the University of Chicago.
