Vera Institute of Justice

Jesmeen Grewal works as a program analyst with Vera’s Beyond Jails initiative. In her role, Jesmeen supports community partners' efforts to reduce jail incarceration at the county-level, while also working toward the goal of state-level reform.

Before joining Vera in 2022, Jesmeen worked at the University of Toronto providing academic programming to undergraduate students.

In addition to her work at Vera, Jesmeen volunteers her time with causes dedicated to ending violence against women and providing advocacy for people serving lifetime sentences in New York State.

Jesmeen holds a BA in political science from the University of Toronto.
