Jack Duran

Jack led creative content strategy and production for Vera’s Restoring Promise initiative—designing and producing multimedia, visual stories, and content marketing campaigns through a combination of videography, photography, copy strategy, digital design, web design, branding, and more. As part of his role, he documented progress and stories in Restoring Promise sites across the country and the initiative's Global Learning Exchange between American and international justice practitioners in Germany and Norway. He also worked closely with external creative partners to disrupt and change harmful narratives in society about justice reform.

For a peek into his work, explore his latest multimedia documentary project, Through Their Eyes, co-produced with incarcerated people and corrections staff at a Massachusetts jail.

Prior to joining Restoring Promise, Jack was digital associate in Vera's Communications Department. There, he led creative strategy and digital design for Vera's digital accounts, and helped manage their growth and day-to-day operations. He also supported the growth of the digital accounts for the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Safety and Justice Challenge. In that role, he produced wide-ranging multimedia content for projects and initiatives across the entire organization. Prior to joining Vera, Jack worked at JustLeadershipUSA where he worked in operations and event planning for the organization's leadership training conferences and its New York City-based #CLOSErikers campaign.

He holds a BA in International Relations and Middle East Studies from Drew University with a research focus on the nexus between drone warfare and emerging military technologies, the ethics and laws of war, and contemporary international counter-terrorism efforts. He also has professional certificates in Digital Marketing from The New School in NYC, and Virtual Reality Production from Google Daydream Impact.
