Hannah Pullen-Blasnik
Hannah Pullen-Blasnik is a senior data scientist with Vera's central research team. Hannah works across the Institute to build organizational data science strategy, streamline implementation processes, and enhance data-driven storytelling.
Before joining Vera in 2024, Hannah was a researcher at Columbia University focused on criminalization, technology, and urban geography. She led projects on real estate development and policing patterns, carceral algorithms and surveillance, and solitary confinement. Hannah also has experience as a data scientist in the digital marketing field, where she managed big data and machine learning projects.
Outside of her work, Hannah volunteers with nonprofits and local government offices, having supported the ACLU of Massachusetts, Data for Black Lives, and the office of New York State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani.
Hannah holds an ScB in social analysis and research from Brown University and an MA and MPhil in sociology from Columbia University, where she is currently a doctoral candidate in sociology.
