Erica Crew

Erica Crew was a program analyst for Vera’s Center on Sentencing and Corrections. She split her time between the Opening Doors to Public Housing Initiative—a national project expanding access to public housing for people with conviction histories, and the Expanding Access to Postsecondary Education in Prison project— which supports sites across the country in providing high-quality access to education for currently and formerly incarcerated people.

Prior to joining Vera, Erica worked as an external affairs associate at the social services agency Sheltering Arms, collaborating with community and corporate partners within NYC on a wide variety of projects and services. Erica also completed a practicum with the National Alliance to End Homelessness, during which she spent time on their Reentry Housing project and conducted research on best practices to combat youth homelessness. She holds a BS in Social Policy and Education from Northwestern University, with a minor in Creative Writing.
