Debo P. Adegbile

Debo P. Adegbile joined Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in 2014, where he is a partner in the litigation/controversy department. Adegbile has two decades of legal experience in the government, private, and nonprofit sectors. During 2013-2014, he served as senior counsel to the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary. Previously, he led the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., the nation’s leading civil rights legal organization, serving as its acting president and director counsel. He has broad civil rights and commercial litigation experience that includes both civil and criminal cases in the United States Supreme Court. He presented oral argument before the Supreme Court in two of the most significant civil rights cases in recent decades in which he defended the constitutionality of the core provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He received his JD from NYU School of Law, is a graduate and trustee of Connecticut College, and also serves as a director of the American Constitution Society.

Adegbile joined Vera’s Board of Trustees in 2014.
