Christine Umali

Christine joined Vera in October 2013 after completing her MBA at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where she focused on social enterprise, marketing, and organizational development. She was also the communications chair for the Capstone program at Oxford.

Prior to business school, she worked at WITNESS, an international organization co-founded by musician Peter Gabriel that trains and supports people using video in their fight for human rights. At WITNESS, she managed the board of directors and relationships with other key stakeholders, organized events, and coordinated outreach campaigns and fundraising projects. She also previously worked at Learning Matters, a nonprofit production company focused on education, where she produced weekly podcasts and features for PBS.

She graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University and was the production manager for the university's undergraduate Department of Theater. She has also worked with DCTV, Cinetic Media, and MTV Networks.
