Cherrell Green
Cherrell Green was a research associate on the Greater Justice New York team, which focuses on addressing the drivers of mass criminalization and mass incarceration in New York. She led and conducted qualitative research as part of a three-year evaluation study of New York State Bail Reform. She is a PhD candidate in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Broadly, her research focuses on understanding the role of race in the criminal legal system, reentry, and exposure to violence and trauma among Black Americans. Prior to joining Vera in 2020, Cherrell had extensive experience and expertise working directly with vulnerable communities and justice-impacted people. She holds an MA in criminal justice from SUNY Albany and a BS in criminal justice from Adelphi University.
