Celia Strumph

Celia Strumph is a program analyst with Vera's Opening Doors to Housing initiative, supporting efforts to expand housing access for people with conviction histories. She previously worked with the Institute’s Unlocking Potential initiative, where she helped advance access to high-quality postsecondary education in prison as an operations associate.

Before joining Vera in 2022, Celia was an active member of the Tufts University Education Reentry Network, an educational reentry program for formerly incarcerated people in Boston. She also served as a student coordinator for the Tufts University Prison Initiative and as a teacher’s assistant for the university’s degree program at Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Concord.

Celia holds a BA in American studies from Tufts University. Her studies focused on how settler colonialism, racial capitalism, and the carceral state interact in the development of the United States criminal legal system.
