Brian Walsh
Brian Walsh was a program manager for the Vera Institute of Justice. Prior to joining Vera, Brian led the Washington College in Prisons program for the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, where he oversaw the expansion of degree pathways, the creation of student services in prison, and the development of college reentry navigators. For six years he was Corrections Education Director for Peninsula College at two state prisons. His goal is to help states build multiple educational pathways for students inside and outside of prison. In 2014 he was named a ConnectEd Champion of Change by President Obama as one of “10 local heroes who are taking creative approaches in using technology to enhance learning for students in communities across the country.” He holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the University of Aberystwyth and a Bachelor’s degree from Ripon College.
