Brian King
Brian King is a senior program associate with Vera’s Greater Justice New York (GJNY) team, where he focuses on policy analysis supporting criminal legal system reform in New York. GJNY uses analysis, research, and strategic communications to advance bail and pretrial justice reform, reduce the use of jails and prisons, minimize the harms of involvement with the criminal legal system, and support reinvestment in community-led strategies.
Before joining Vera, Brian practiced law at two national firms, where he specialized in complex corporate and commercial litigation.
In addition to his work at Vera, Brian volunteers with the New York Lawyer Assistance Program, where he provides peer support to attorneys facing mental health and substance use issues.
Brian holds a BSBA in accounting from Bucknell University, a JD from Villanova University, and an MSW from Columbia University.
