Bettina Rodriguez Schlegel
Bettina Rodriguez Schlegel joined the Center on Immigration and Justice at the Vera Institute of Justice in March 2015. She was a program director for the Legal Orientation Program, the Legal Orientation Program for Custodians of Unaccompanied Children, and the Immigration Court Helpdesk.
Prior to Vera, Bettina worked as a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County in California. In that role, Bettina served as project lead for the LIBRE program (Linking Immigrants to Benefits, Resources and Education).
Bettina graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2011, where she focused on immigration issues. She also graduated from Wesleyan University in 2006 with a BA in sociology. Bettina is fluent in Spanish.
