Adureh Onyekwere

Adureh Onyekwere is a program associate with Vera’s Reshaping Prosecution initiative. She works with elected prosecutors across the country to end mass incarceration, address racial disparities, and make offices more accountable to the communities they serve.

Prior to joining Vera, Adureh was a senior research and program associate at the Brennan Center for Justice as a member of its Justice Program. There, she worked on decreasing jail and prison populations, creating incentives for states to reduce crime and incarceration, examining the private prison industry, exploring the effect fees and fines have on those most impacted by the criminal justice system, changing the culture of prosecutors’ offices to affect how prosecutors view and pursue justice in their communities, and developing policy in those areas.

Adureh holds a BA in political science from Fordham University.
