After dedicating more than three years to developing the Vera Institute of Justice’s Policing Program, S. Rebecca Neusteter will be stepping down from her role as Policing Program Director to assume the role Senior Research Fellow. Rebecca will continue to develop research and policy solutions aimed at advancing the policing profession independently, but remains available as a resource to Vera. Vera thanks Rebecca for her service, pioneering work, and many significant contributions to exploring the role of policing, enforcement, and the potential of alternatives in reducing mass incarceration and collateral consequences of police contact. Rebecca will remain with us as a Senior Research Fellow for a transition period. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors and will commence a search for a new Policing Program Director in the weeks ahead.
