The Vera Institute of Justice exists to end the overcriminalization and mass incarceration of people of color, immigrants, and people experiencing poverty. Proceeds from the Annual Dinner will help Vera overcome barriers to justice and continue forging paths to progress.

Vera is proud to honor Damien Dwin, a visionary leader and unwavering advocate for justice. Under Damien's leadership as board chair, Vera launched a multi-year strategic reorganization that transformed Vera and elevated its leadership in criminal justice and immigration reform. Damien serves as founder and CEO of Lafayette Square, a private credit firm focused on middle market companies employing working-class people.
